Tuscan villages and thermal springs
Thermal Tuscany — Bagno Vignoni, Saturnia, Montecatini — is too far for a day trip from the Cinque Terre. It deserves a stop of its own, two or three nights, placed in the itinerary after Liguria.
What genuinely works as a day trip
From Monterosso you comfortably reach Lucca, Pisa and Portovenere. Siena and the Val d'Orcia are possible, but they turn into long days with many hours in the car and little time on the ground.
